María

A great transformation does not always require a lot of demolition, and this renovation is a proof of that!

The Maria's main bathroom and toilet were renovated without demolishing the existing tiles or raising the floor. Without deviating from a clear objective: to modernise both rooms.

Bathroom and toilet renovation

Master bathroom: elegance and warmth for her

For the main bathroom, which is a space mainly used by Maria, an atmosphere of elegant and cosy tones was chosen.

The walls were covered with microcement, a water-resistant material which, as well as looking impeccable, can be applied directly onto the old tiles. On the floor, in the same way, a high quality vinyl was installed over the original tiles, adding warmth without the need for invasive work.

The special touch is the combination of the walnut tones of the furniture, with a wallpaper with a vichy check pattern on one of the walls, which adds a timeless and sophisticated air.

The lighting was adjusted to highlight these details, creating a bathroom that is not only functional, but also a space where she can relax and enjoy her time.

Toilet: lightness and freshness for him

For the bathroom, which is a small space mainly used by Maria's husband, light tones were used to visually enlarge the room.

Also here, both microcement was used on the walls and vinyl on the floor, maintaining the essence of the design.

As in the main bathroom a wall was accentuated with a wallpaper, here in the toilet a microcement in a soft green colour was applied, which provides an impressive freshness. The oak furniture, which is a little lighter than walnut, reinforces this feeling of lightness.

Overall, this project demonstrates that sometimes less is more: the key was to choose innovative materials and personalised details, which transform these spaces without much invasion.
